عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: “بُنِيَ الْإِسْلَامُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ: شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَحَجِّ الْبَيْتِ، وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ.”

Meaning of Hadith No. 3

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Islam has been built on five [pillars]:

1. Testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (Shahadah).
2. Establishing the prayer (Salat).
3. Paying the zakat (Zakat).
4. Making the pilgrimage to the House (Hajj).
5. Fasting in Ramadan (Sawm).

Meaning of Hadith No. 2

Hadith No. 2, known as the Hadith of Jibreel, teaches us about the three important parts of our religion:

1. Islam: This means submitting to Allah. It involves the five pillars (Shahadah, Salat, Zakat, Sawm, Hajj).
2. Iman: This means having faith. It involves believing in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree (Qadar).
3. Ihsan: This means doing things excellently. It means worshipping Allah as if you see Him, knowing that even if you don’t see Him, He sees you.

Tips for Memorising Hadith

To memorise Hadith effectively, you can:

1. Listen to the Hadith recitation many times.
2. Read the Hadith aloud repeatedly.
