Belief in the Revealed Books

(HOLY QUR’AN) Belief in the revealed books (Holy Qur’an)

1. What are Revealed Books?

Revealed books are messages sent by Allah (God) to His prophets to guide humanity. These books contain Allah’s commands, laws, and teachings for people to live a righteous life.

2. Major Revealed Books and Their Prophets

Allah sent several books to different prophets throughout history. The following are some of the major ones:

  • Tawrat (Torah) – Revealed to Prophet Musa (Moses) (A.S.).
  • Zabur (Psalms) – Revealed to Prophet Dawud (David) (A.S.).
  • Injil (Gospel) – Revealed to Prophet Isa (Jesus) (A.S.).
  • Holy Qur’an – Revealed to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).
3. The Holy Qur’an

The Holy Qur’an is the final and complete book of Allah. It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) over a period of 23 years. It is preserved in its original form and is a source of guidance for all Muslims until the Day of Judgment.

4. How the Holy Qur’an Incorporates Previous Revelations

The Holy Qur’an is unique because it:

  • Confirms the original truth of earlier messages found in the Tawrat, Zabur, and Injil. It teaches the same fundamental belief in one God.
  • Corrects any distortions or changes that occurred in previous books over time.
  • Completes the divine guidance for all humanity, providing a comprehensive way of life that covers all aspects of human existence.
5. Importance of the Holy Qur’an

The Holy Qur’an is very important because:

  • It is the final and perfect word of Allah.
  • It provides clear guidance for Muslims in all aspects of life, including worship, morals, and social dealings.
  • It contains laws and teachings that promote peace, justice, and righteousness.
  • It is a source of immense knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual healing.
Qur’an References
  • Surah Al-Baqarah (2:2) – “This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.”
  • Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:48) – “…And We have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which came before it of the Scripture and as a guardian over it…”
