Lesson Content/Board Summary

History And Biography: Selected Prophets I

Biography of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, in the year 570 CE. His father, Abdullah, died before his birth, and his mother, Aminah, died when he was six years old. He was raised by his grandfather, Abdul-Muttalib, and later by his uncle, Abu Talib. He was known for his honesty and trustworthiness, earning him the title “Al-Amin” (The Trustworthy).

At the age of 40, he received the first revelation from Allah through Angel Jibreel (AS) in the cave of Hira, marking the beginning of his prophethood. He preached Islam, calling people to worship one God (Allah) and to live righteously. He faced many challenges and persecution from the people of Makkah but remained steadfast. He migrated to Madinah (known as Hijrah) in 622 CE, where he established the first Islamic community. He passed away in Madinah at the age of 63.

Moral Lessons from the Biography of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

  1. Honesty and Trustworthiness: Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was known as Al-Amin, teaching us to always be truthful and reliable.
  2. Patience and Perseverance: He faced many difficulties but never gave up on his mission, showing us the importance of patience in the face of challenges.
  3. Kindness and Mercy: He was kind to everyone, including his enemies, and preached forgiveness and compassion.
  4. Justice and Fairness: He established a just society in Madinah, teaching us to treat all people fairly and equally.
  5. Simplicity and Humility: Despite his high status, he lived a simple life and was humble.

Biography of Prophet Nuh (AS)

Prophet Nuh (AS), also known as Noah, was sent by Allah to his people who were engrossed in idol worship and sin. He called them to worship Allah alone and abandon their evil ways for many years, but they rejected his message and mocked him.

Allah commanded Nuh (AS) to build an ark (a large ship) because a great flood was coming to cleanse the earth of the disbelievers. Nuh (AS) built the ark, and when the flood came, he, his family (except his disbelieving wife and one son), and pairs of every animal entered the ark. All the disbelievers who refused to believe in Allah and Nuh’s message perished in the flood. After the flood, the ark settled on Mount Judi, and Nuh (AS) and his followers repopulated the earth.

Moral Lessons from the Biography of Prophet Nuh (AS)

  1. Obedience to Allah: Prophet Nuh (AS) obeyed Allah’s command to build the ark, even when people mocked him.
  2. Patience in Da’wah (Calling to Islam): He preached to his people for a very long time, showing great patience despite their rejection.
  3. Trust in Allah: He trusted in Allah’s plan and protection during the flood.
  4. Consequences of Disbelief: The story teaches that rejecting Allah’s message and guidance leads to severe consequences.
  5. Importance of Family: He tried to save his family, highlighting the importance of guiding and caring for one’s family.
