Understanding Surah Quraysh

Surah Quraysh is the 106th chapter of the Holy Qur’an. It has 4 verses and speaks about Allah’s favour upon the Quraysh tribe, who were protected and provided for, and encourages them to worship the Lord of the Ka’bah.

Correct Recitation and Pronunciation (Tajwid)

When reciting the Qur’an, it is important to pronounce each letter and word correctly. This is called Tajwid. Paying attention to Tajwid helps to preserve the meaning of the verses and ensures proper worship.

Surah Quraysh for Memorisation

Here is Surah Quraysh, broken down verse by verse for easy memorisation:

1. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
   (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.)
2. لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيْشٍ
   (For the accustomed security of Quraysh –)
3. إِۦلَٰفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيْفِ
   (Their accustomed security [in] the journey of winter and summer –)
4. فَلْيَعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ
   (Let them worship the Lord of this House,)
5. ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍۭ
   (Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe from fear.)
