Lesson Content/Board Summary
Qualities of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) – Trustworthiness and His Death
Trustworthiness of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) – Al-Amin
Trustworthiness means being honest, reliable, and keeping promises. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was known for his trustworthiness even before he became a Prophet. He was called “Al-Amin”, which means “The Trustworthy One”.
Examples of his trustworthiness:
- Before prophethood, people would entrust their valuable belongings to him for safekeeping because they knew he would always return them.
- He always spoke the truth and never lied.
- He fulfilled his promises to people.
Practicing trustworthiness is very important in Islam. It builds strong relationships and earns respect from others.
The Death of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) lived a complete life, fulfilling his mission of delivering the message of Islam to humanity. He passed away in Medina in the 11th year of Hijra (632 CE) at the age of 63.
Circumstances of his death:
- The Prophet fell ill for several days, suffering from a fever.
- Even during his illness, he continued to lead prayers in the mosque as long as he could.
- He passed away peacefully in the presence of his family, particularly his wife Aisha (RA).
Key Islamic Teaching:
His death reminded the Muslims that he was a human being, and that Islam is eternal and does not depend on any one person. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran (Surah Al-Imran, 3:144): “Muhammad is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful.”
