Local games are traditional games played within a specific community or culture.they are an crucial part of our cultural heritage and provide entertainment and social interaction. Traditional games are a vital part of our heritage.

Cat and Rat as a Local Game:

Cat and Rat is a traditional Nigerian local game played outdoors. It’s a chase and tag game played in an open space. It’s a traditional Nigerian local game.

How to Play Cat and Rat

Cat and Rat is a local circle game. One pupil is the cat and another is the rat, while the other players form a wide circle. Under the teacher’s direction, the cat tries to tag the rat as both move around or through the circle according to the agreed version of the game.

Rules should be explained before play: use an open safe space, do not pull clothing, do not push, stop at the signal, and allow pupils to take turns. The aim is enjoyment, quick movement, cooperation and fair play—not rough competition.
