What is First Aid?

First aid is the immediate help given to someone who is hurt or suddenly becomes ill. Knowing first aid is very critically important as it can definitely help save lives and stop injuries from getting worse. Learning about first aid is a great way to help others.

Giving First Aid Treatment

First aid treatment involves several important steps.These include:

Always wash your hands very well before touching any wound to prevent infection.
Carefully clean the wound with clean water or a special solution to remove dirt.
put on a bandage or a clean covering to protect the wound and keep it clean. You can use a sterile dressing if you have one.
If there is a lot of bleeding,press firmly on the wound with a clean cloth and get help from a doctor or nurse.
Elevate the injured limb to reduce swelling and discomfort.
Reassure the injured person to keep them calm and comfortable.
