Uses Of Materials In A First Aid Box

A first aid box is a container that holds materials used to give immediate care to someone who is injured or sick before professional help arrives. These materials help stop bleeding, clean wounds, and prevent infection.

Bandages

Bandages are used to cover and protect wounds. They help stop bleeding and keep dirt away from the wound. Bandages also hold other first aid items like cotton wool in place.

Cotton Wool

Cotton wool is soft and used to clean wounds or apply medicine. It is used with antiseptics like iodine to prevent infections. It must be used gently to avoid hurting the skin.

Antiseptic Solution (like Iodine or Spirit)

Antiseptics are used to kill germs on wounds. They help prevent infections and make healing faster. A few drops are placed on cotton wool before cleaning a wound.

Plasters

Plasters are small strips with a sticky side.They are used to cover small cuts and bruises. They keep wounds clean and protect them from germs.

Gloves

Gloves protect the person giving first aid from touching blood or other body fluids. They keep both the helper and the injured person safe from germs.

Scissors and Tweezers
