The Hadith is read as: “Man husni islaamil mar-i tarkuhu maa laa ya’neehi.”

Translation of Hadith No. 12
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “From the perfection of a person’s Islam is his leaving that which does not concern him.”

This Hadith teaches several important lessons for a Muslim’s life:
- Focus on what is beneficial: A true Muslim should spend their time and energy on matters that are beneficial for them in this life and the hereafter, rather than engaging in idle talk or unnecessary interference in others’ affairs.
- Avoid gossip and backbiting: Engaging in discussions about others’ private lives or faults, which do not concern us, is discouraged. This includes gossip, backbiting, and spreading rumors.
- Respect privacy: It promotes respecting the privacy of others and not prying into their personal matters.
- Maintain peace and harmony: By avoiding unnecessary interference, individuals contribute to a more peaceful and harmonious community, reducing conflicts and misunderstandings.
- Self-improvement: Focusing on one’s own shortcomings and working to improve oneself is more productive than being preoccupied with the faults of others.
- Signs of good Islam: The Hadith states that leaving what does not concern one is a sign of the perfection or excellence of one’s Islam, indicating a high level of faith and character.
