  1. Reduction: This involves minimizing the amount of waste generated in the first place. Examples include buying products with less packaging, using reusable bags, and avoiding single-use items.
  2. Reuse: This technique involves using items multiple times for their original purpose or for a new purpose instead of discarding them. Examples include refilling water bottles, donating old clothes, and repurposing containers.

  5. Incineration: This is a waste treatment process that involves the combustion of organic substances contained in waste materials.   6. Landfilling: This is the oldest and most common method of waste disposal, where waste is buried in designated areas called landfills. Modern landfills are designed to minimize environmental impact by lining the bottom to prevent leachate from contaminating groundwater and covering waste daily.

Deforestation

Deforestation is the clearing of forests or trees for other land uses, such as agriculture, cattle ranching, logging, and urban development. It involves the permanent destruction of forests and woodlands. Deforestation has severe environmental consequences, including habitat loss for wildlife, soil erosion, climate change due to reduced carbon dioxide absorption, and disruption of water cycles.
