Lesson Content
Benefits Of Components Of Physical Fitness
Physical fitness is essential. Agility, power, flexibility, and balance are vital components.
The following are benefits of components of physical fitness:
- Agility: Fast movement and direction changes; crucial in sports like football and basketball. Improves reaction time and speed. It is indeed also beneficial in dodging obstacles and performing quick turns.
- Power: Strength for quick, explosive actions (jumping, throwing); meaningful in high jump and sprinting. It is also vital for weightlifting and martial arts.
- Flexibility: Full range of motion in muscles and joints; prevents injuries and is key in gymnastics. It also enhances posture and reduces muscle soreness.
- Balance: Stability and control; essential in activities like cycling and standing on one foot. It is also important for walking on uneven surfaces and preventing falls.

Lesson Keywords
- Agility – The ability to move quickly and easily.
- Power – The ability to exert maximum force quickly.
- Flexibility – The range of motion in muscles and joints.
- Balance – The ability to maintain stability and control.
Lesson Evaluation
To evaluate the learning, the teacher asks pupils to:
- What is agility, and how does it benefit us?
- Give one example of an activity that requires power.
- how does flexibility prevent injuries?
- Explain how balance is critically important in everyday life.

- Practice balancing on one foot for 30 seconds each day and record your progress.
- List three sports or activities that require a high level of agility.
Differentiation
- For slower learners: Provide one-on-one assistance during practical activities.
- For advanced learners: More advanced pupils can research additional benefits of each fitness component.
- For visual/auditory/kinesthetic learners: Use visual aids, verbal explanations, and hands-on activities to cater to different learning styles.
