Electrocution

Electrocution is a serious danger caused when electricity passes through a person’s body. It can cause severe harm or death.

What is Electrocution?

Electrocution happens when someone gets hurt or dies from electricity passing through their body. It’s a dangerous electric shock.

Causes of Electrocution

Electrocution can occur due to various unsafe practices and conditions. The following are some of the common causes of electrocution:

  1. Touching uncovered wires: Unprotected wires carry electricity; touching them causes shocks.
  2. Using electrical devices with wet hands: Water conducts electricity, making this very dangerous.
  3. Overloading outlets: Too many devices in one outlet can cause overheating and sparks.
  4. Using damaged electrical cords: Damaged cords expose wires, creating a risk.
  5. Playing near electrical substations: These areas are extremely dangerous and should be avoided.
  6. contact with fallen power lines: Downed power lines can energize the ground around them.
  7. Improper grounding: Lack of proper grounding can cause electrical current to flow through unintended paths.

Ways of Preventing Electrocution

Preventing electrocution involves adopting safety measures and being cautious around electricity.These include:
