Weekly Cleaning of the Kitchen
Along with daily cleaning, weekly kitchen cleaning involves a more thorough process to maintain hygiene. This includes:
- Utensil Cleaning: Removing and thoroughly cleaning all cooking utensils.
- Floor Scrubbing: Scrubbing the kitchen floor to remove dirt and stains.
- Drain Cleaning and Disinfection: Cleaning and disinfecting the drains to prevent odors and bacterial growth.
Weekly Kitchen-cleaning Plan
Weekly cleaning reaches areas not fully covered every day: shelves, cupboard fronts, refrigerator surfaces, wall splashes, windows, drains and the spaces behind movable equipment. Work from higher and cleaner areas downwards.
Remove food first, switch off electrical equipment when required, use safe access instead of climbing on unstable furniture, and return dry items only after inspection.
Weekly Kitchen Cleaning
Weekly cleaning reaches places not fully covered by daily wiping: cupboard shelves, storage containers, walls near cooking areas, refrigerator shelves, drains, bins and spaces behind movable equipment.
Remove and protect food first, clean from less dirty to dirtier areas, rinse where required, dry equipment and return items in order. Check expiry dates and discard unsafe food through the proper waste system.
