Cleaning a Modern Kitchen
Cleaning a modern kitchen involves several steps to ensure hygiene and prevent accidents.
- Preparation: Gather all necessary cleaning materials and equipment.
- Clearing: Remove all items from countertops and the sink area.
- Washing Dishes: Wash all dirty dishes, pots, and pans with soap and water.
- Cleaning countertops: Wipe down countertops with a damp cloth and cleaning solution.
- Cleaning the Sink: Scrub the sink with a brush and cleaning agent.
- Sweeping/Mopping the Floor: sweep the floor to remove debris, then mop with a cleaning solution.
- Cleaning Appliances: Wipe down the exterior of appliances like the refrigerator and microwave.
- Disposing of Waste: Empty the trash can and replace the liner.
Cleaning a Modern Kitchen Safely
A modern kitchen may contain electrical appliances, smooth worktops, fitted cabinets and specialised surfaces. Disconnect an appliance according to its instructions before cleaning and keep water away from plugs, sockets and motors.
Use a product compatible with the surface. Abrasives that clean a rough pot may scratch glass, coated metal or polished worktops.
