Political thuggery means using violence or force during elections or political activities. This lesson will teach us why it is wrong and hazardous for youth to take part in it.

Consequences of Political Thuggery

These include:

People can get badly injured or killed
It can cause fear and confusion in the community
It can destroy properties like houses and cars
It stops good leaders from winning elections
It makes people afraid to vote
It disrupts daily activities and businesses
It can lead to long-term psychological trauma for victims

Reasons Youth Should Not Join Political Thuggery

The following are:

it is against the law and can lead to arrest
It destroys their future and education
It leads to bad behaviour and habits
It can cause the youth to lose their lives
It gives a bad name to their families
It can lead to drug abuse and addiction
It exposes them to dangerous and harmful environments

How to Stop Political Thuggery in Our Society

They are:

Educate youths about the dangers of violence
Report thugs to the police or leaders
Say no when invited to do wrong during elections
Join peace clubs and good groups in school
Encourage others to vote peacefully
Promote community dialogues and peace initiatives
support youth empowerment programs that provide alternatives to violence
