Traditional Ways of Security: Security Guards, Hunters, and Town Criers

Traditional security methods ensured the safety of communities in the past. Below are some examples:

1. Security Guards:
   Security guards were assigned to watch over homes, farms, or town gates. They ensured safety by preventing intruders from entering.
2. hunters:
   Hunters used their skills to track and fend off risky animals or threats, helping to protect villages from harm.
3. Town Criers:
   Town criers moved around with drums or bells, announcing messages and warnings to the community. they ensured everyone was informed of urgent matters.

Community Roles in Traditional Security

Town criers passed agreed information, hunters used knowledge of paths and forests, and guards watched gates, farms or meeting places. Drums, bells, horns and whistles sometimes carried coded warnings.

Today these community roles should support, not replace, lawful security agencies. Suspects must not be beaten or punished by a crowd. Children should report danger and move away rather than join a patrol or confrontation.
