ethnicity means favouring people from our tribe or group more than others. This can cause problems in a country like Nigeria.

The following are consequences of ethnicity in Nigeria:

Communal clash or Conflict: This is a fight between groups in a community due to ethnic differences. Such clashes can lead to loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of people. Examples include conflicts between farmers and herders, and clashes between different ethnic groups over land or resources.
Political Violence: Political violence happens when people fight becuase of tribal differences in politics. This can manifest as thuggery, electoral fraud, and even armed conflict. Examples include violence during elections, political assassinations, and unrest caused by perceived marginalization of certain ethnic groups.
Nepotism and Discrimination: This means giving jobs or help only to our tribe, leaving others out. This can lead to unequal opportunities, resentment, and social division. Examples include preferential treatment in hiring, promotion, and access to resources based on ethnic affiliation rather than merit. other examples include:

Denying opportunities to individuals from other ethnic groups.
Excluding certain groups from decision-making processes.
* Creating barriers to social mobility for marginalized communities.
