Right Response To God’s Call

God sometimes calls people for special assignments. When He does, the right response is to obey and follow His instruction with a willing heart.

Memory Verse: And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening. – 1 Samuel 3:10

Samuel’s Response to God’s Call

Samuel was a young boy who lived in the temple under the care of Eli the priest. One night, God called him. At first, Samuel thought it was Eli calling, but Eli told him it was God. When God called again, Samuel answered, “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”

Isaiah’s Response to God’s Call

Isaiah saw a vision of God in the temple. God was looking for someone to send with a message to His people. When God asked, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah quickly replied, “Here I am. Send me!”

Lessons from Samuel and Isaiah

We must always be ready to obey God when He calls. God wants children who will listen to Him and do what is right. Just like Samuel and Isaiah, we should respond with respect and readiness.

Examples of When Our Parents Call Us and Why

Sometimes our parents call us to:

Help them with house chores
Run an errand
Listen to instructions
Pray or go to church
Stay away from danger

Just as we obey our parents, we must also obey God.
