The human heart is a muscular organ located in the chest, slightly to the left. It is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body via the circulatory system.This ensures that oxygen and nutrients are delivered to every cell while waste products are removed.Functions of the Heart:

The heart performs several vital functions to keep the body alive and healthy.These include:

Pumps oxygenated blood to the body: The heart ensures all body cells receive oxygen.
Receives deoxygenated blood from the body: It collects used blood for purification in the lungs.
Maintains blood pressure: The heart helps regulate blood flow and maintain normal pressure levels.
Distributes nutrients: Blood pumped by the heart carries essential nutrients to cells.
Supports waste removal: It aids in transporting carbon dioxide and other waste for excretion.
Hormone Distribution: The heart helps in distributing hormones throughout the body, which regulate various bodily functions.
Temperature Regulation: By circulating blood, the heart assists in maintaining a stable body temperature.
