Introduction to Suratul Mulk
Suratul Mulk, meaning “The Sovereignty” or “The Dominion,” is the 67th chapter of the Holy Quran. It consists of 30 verses and was revealed in Makkah. This Surah reminds us of Allah’s immense power and control over the entire universe, and it warns disbelievers about the punishment of Hellfire.
Meaning: And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. - Verse 7:
Meaning: When they are cast therein, they will hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.
Meaning: It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, “Did there not come to you a warner?”
Meaning: They will say, “Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, ‘Allah has not sent down anything; you are not but in great error.'”
