SURATUL MULK (Qur’an 67)

Suratul Mulk, also known as The Sovereignty or The Kingdom, is the 67th chapter of the Holy Qur’an. It consists of 30 verses and focuses on Allah’s power, creation, and the consequences of belief and disbelief.

Qur’anic Reading: Qur’an 67: 21-25

Arabic Text: (Teacher will display or recite the Arabic text of verses 21-25 from Suratul Mulk.)

Meaning:

21. Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they persist in defiance and aversion.

22. Is he who walks headlong, with his face to the ground, better guided or he who walks upright on a straight path?

23. Say, “It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.”

24. Say, “It is He who has dispersed you through the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.”

25. And they say, “When is this promise, if you are truthful?”

Lessons Learned from Qur’an 67: 21-25:

Allah is the sole Provider; no one can provide if He withholds His bounty.
Guidance comes from Allah; those who reject it are like those who walk blindly.

Meaning:

26. Say, “The knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner.”

27. But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieved will be grieved, and it will be said, “This is that for which you used to call.”

28. Say, “Have you considered: if Allah should destroy me and those with me or have mercy upon us, then who will protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?”

29. Say, “He is the Most Merciful; in Him we have believed, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who is in clear error.”

30. Say, “Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?”

The exact time of the Day of Judgment is known only to Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was only a warner.
