Methods of Preventing Drug Abuse
We must avoid drugs and stay safe.There are many good ways to prevent drug abuse. These include:
The following are methods of preventing drug abuse:
- Saying no to bad friends
- Listening to parents and teachers
- Reporting drug users to adults
- Learning about the dangers of drugs
- Keeping busy with good hobbies
- Avoiding places where peopel use drugs
- Engaging in sports and recreational activities
- Seeking guidance and counseling from trusted adults
Effects of Drug Abuse
Drug abuse means using harmful substances wrongly.It can cause many problems in the body and life.
The following are effects of drug abuse:
- Weakness and sickness
- Loss of memory
- Poor performance in school
- Bad behavior and fighting
- Stealing and lying
- Damage to body parts
- Mental illness
- Social isolation and stigma
- Increased risk of accidents and injuries
Meaning of Life Coping skills
Life coping skills are good ways we use to face problems without doing wrong things.
Examples are:
- Talking to someone when sad
- Thinking before acting
- Being strong when things are hard
- Controlling anger and fear
- Asking for help when needed
- Practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing
- Setting realistic goals and working towards them
- Developing problem-solving skills
