Meaning Of Food Safety

Food safety means keeping food clean and safe to eat. It helps to stop germs from entering the body through food.

the following are ways to keep food safe:

  1. Wash hands before handling food
  2. Wash fruits and vegetables well
  3. Cook food properly before eating
  4. Store food in clean containers
  5. cover food to protect it from flies
  6. Check expiry date before using food
  7. use clean utensils when serving food
  8. avoid cross-contamination by separating raw and cooked foods
  9. Ensure proper refrigeration of perishable items

Importance Of Food Safety

Food safety protects us from falling sick.It keeps our body free from harmful germs.These include:

  1. prevents food poisoning
  2. Helps us grow strong and healthy
