Lesson Content/Board Summary

Revision Of Jesus Our Saviour

Meaning of Jesus as Saviour

Jesus is called our Saviour because He came to save us from our sins and help us live good lives. He saves us from bad things and shows us the way to God.

Saving Acts of Jesus

Jesus performed many saving acts to help people. Some examples include:

  1. Healing the sick: Jesus healed many people who were sick, blind, or lame, like the blind man and the ten lepers.
  2. Protecting His disciples: Jesus protected His followers from danger, such as when He calmed the stormy sea.
  3. Forgiving sins: Jesus forgave people’s sins, like the paralytic man and the woman caught in adultery, giving them a new start.
  4. Teaching us how to live: Jesus taught us important lessons on how to love God and our neighbours, which saves us from living wrongly.

What Jesus’ Saving Acts Show About Him

Each saving act shows us something special about Jesus:

  1. Healing the sick: Shows Jesus has great power over sickness and cares for our bodies.
  2. Protecting His disciples: Shows Jesus keeps us safe and watches over us.
  3. Forgiving sins: Shows Jesus is merciful and can give us a fresh start when we make mistakes.
  4. Teaching us: Shows Jesus guides us to live good and happy lives.

Who Jesus Calls His Brothers and Sisters

Jesus said that anyone who does the will of His Father in heaven is His brother, sister, and mother. This means:

  1. People who obey God’s word and commandments.
  2. People who love God with all their heart.
  3. People who love their neighbours as themselves.
  4. People who follow Jesus’ teachings and try to be like Him.

Teacher Guide for Using This Lesson Plan

Before the lesson, ensure you have your Holy Bible, relevant Bible-story pictures (e.g., Jesus healing a blind man, calming a storm, forgiving a paralytic), and the memory verse chart ready. Begin by engaging pupils with a song and reviewing their prior knowledge of Jesus as Saviour. Guide them through recalling specific saving acts and discussing what these acts reveal about Jesus’ character. Observe pupils’ participation and answers to check their understanding throughout the revision process. Encourage all pupils to participate, offering simpler prompts for those who struggle and asking extension questions for those who grasp concepts quickly.
