God Made All Things (Genesis 1:1-27)

The Bible’s first book, Genesis, tells us how everything began. genesis 1:1 states,”In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” God created the world in six days, resting on the seventh.Each day saw new creations:

The following are the creations of God on each day:

1. Day One: Light and darkness where separated.
2. Day Two: The sky was made, separating the waters.
3. Day Three: Dry land, seas, plants, and trees appeared.
4. Day Four: The sun, moon, and stars were created.
5. Day Five: Fish and birds were created.
6. Day Six: Land animals and humans (man and woman) were created.

Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Who is God?

God is the supreme being and the Creator of all things. Christians describe God as all-powerful (omnipotent), all-knowing (omniscient), loving, holy and present everywhere. These attributes mean that God has power over creation, knows all things, cares for people and deserves worship.

Appreciating God’s Creation

Pupils can show appreciation by caring for plants and animals, keeping their surroundings clean, and treating other people with respect. Humans are part of creation and have a responsibility to care for the world around them.
