Lesson Content/Board Summary
Discovering God Through Jesus: Relating With God
Who Is Jesus?
Jesus is God’s Son who came to earth to show us the way to God. The name “Emmanuel” means “God with us,” showing that God is close to us through Jesus.
How Christians Relate with God Through Jesus
Christians relate with God through Jesus because Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He taught us that no one can come to God the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Jesus Teaches Us About God Our Father
Jesus taught us to see God as our loving Father. He showed us how to pray to God, starting with “Our Father in heaven” (Matthew 6:9). This means God cares for us like a good father cares for his children.
Ways to Relate with God
We can relate with God in these ways:
- Prayer: Talking to God about everything, like saying “thank you,” asking for help, or telling Him our worries. (Example: Praying before meals or bedtime).
- Obedience: Doing what God tells us to do in the Bible and through our parents and teachers. (Example: Obeying parents and being kind to others).
- Love: Loving God with all our heart and loving our neighbours as ourselves. (Example: Sharing toys with friends or helping someone in need).
- Trust: Believing that God will always take care of us and keep His promises. (Example: Trusting God to help us when we are afraid).
Memory Verse
Matthew 6:9 – “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”
Bible Reading
John 14:6 – “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
