Lesson Content/Board Summary

Revision Of God Our Father

God as Father and Our Relationship with Him

God is our Father because He created us and loves us very much. Just like our earthly fathers care for us, God cares for us even more. We are His children, and He wants us to obey Him, love Him, and praise Him always.

Why Christians Call God Their Father

Christians call God their Father for many important reasons:

  1. He created everyone and everything in the world.
  2. He loves us unconditionally and always wants what is best for us.
  3. He provides for all our needs, like food, shelter, and clothing.
  4. He protects us from danger and keeps us safe.
  5. He forgives us when we do wrong and helps us to do better.

Our Responsibility as Children of God

As children of God, we have responsibilities. One important responsibility is to praise God always for His goodness and love.

Bible Reading: Psalm 103:1-2

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Memory Verse

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (Matthew 6:9)

Teacher Guide for Using This Lesson Plan

Before the lesson, ensure you have your Bible, relevant charts or pictures depicting God’s creation and care, and any audio/video resources for praise songs. Begin by engaging pupils with questions about their previous knowledge of God. Guide them through the revision points, allowing ample opportunity for them to recall and articulate their understanding of God as Father and their responsibilities. Encourage active participation in reciting Psalm 103:1-2 and the memory verse. Pay attention to pupils’ responses during the evaluation to identify any lingering misconceptions. Since this is a revision week, there is no separate note-taking step; the focus is on reinforcing understanding through recall and practice.
