Lesson Content/Board Summary
Discovering God Through Jesus
Meaning of Discovering God Through Jesus
Discovering God through Jesus means learning about God by listening to what Jesus taught and by watching how Jesus lived. Jesus came to show us what God is like.
What Jesus’ Words and Actions Show About God
Jesus’ words and actions teach us many things about God:
- God’s Love: Jesus showed God’s great love by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and dying for our sins. He taught us to love God and our neighbours.
- God’s Care: Jesus taught that God cares for us, just like a good Father. He said God knows what we need even before we ask.
- God’s Forgiveness: Jesus forgave people’s sins and taught us to forgive others. This shows that God is always ready to forgive us when we say sorry.
- God’s Goodness: Jesus did many good things and taught us to be good. He showed that God is good and wants us to be good too.
Bible Reading
John 14:9 (NIV)

Memory Verse
John 14:6-7 (NIV)

Teacher Guide for Using This Lesson Plan
Before the lesson, ensure you have a Holy Bible and relevant pictures or a memory verse chart ready. Begin by engaging pupils with questions about God’s creation to activate their prior knowledge. During the lesson development, use simple language and relatable examples when explaining Jesus’ teachings about God’s love, care, forgiveness, and goodness. Encourage pupils to actively participate in discussions and to share their thoughts. When teaching the memory verse, lead them in repetition until they can recite it confidently. Allow pupils to copy the Board Summary notes after the main teaching and before the conclusion. Observe pupils’ responses during activities and discussions to check their understanding, providing additional support to those who struggle and offering extension activities to those who grasp the concepts quickly. Ensure the classroom environment is conducive to learning and reflection.
