Meaning of Al-Nawawi Hadith 4

The Hadith explains that a human being is formed in the mother’s womb over 120 days: 40 days as a seed (nutfa), 40 days as a clot of blood (alaqa), and 40 days as a morsel of flesh (mudgha). After this, an angel is sent to blow the soul into the fetus and to record four things: livelihood, lifespan, deeds, and whether the person will be wretched or happy. The Hadith also states that a person’s ultimate destination is determined by their final deeds, which can change even if they have spent most of their life doing good or bad, based on what Allah has decreed.
