Born June 13, 1942, in Minna, Niger State, he joined the Nigerian military and rose through the ranks, gaining experience and skills.

Becoming Head of State

After General Sani Abacha’s death in 1998, General Abubakar became Head of State.He was the Chief of Defense Staff at the time.
