The Jews anticipated a Messiah based on Old Testament prophecies and their experiences. They envisioned a powerful political leader who would free them from Roman rule and restore israel’s kingdom.They also expected a military conqueror, a warrior king like David, who would defeat their enemies and establish a glorious empire.

The Saviour Jesus Was and Is

Jesus, however, came as a different kind of savior. He was not a political or military leader, but a spiritual one. He came to save people from their sins, not from political oppression. He taught about love, forgiveness, and compassion, and He offered eternal life to all who believe in Him.

Comparing the Expected Savior and Jesus

The expected savior was to be a political and military leader, while Jesus was a spiritual leader. The expected savior was to restore Israel’s kingdom,while Jesus came to establish a spiritual kingdom in the hearts of people. The expected savior was to conquer enemies, while Jesus conquered sin and death.

Importance of Understanding the True Savior

Understanding the true nature of Jesus is essential for a genuine relationship with Him. It helps us to appreciate His sacrifice and to follow His teachings. It also enables us to share the good news of salvation with others.
