Understanding Ascension

Ascension means going up into the sky. In the Bible, it refers to jesus rising to heaven after his resurrection, forty days after easter, witnessed by his disciples (acts 1:9-11).

The Story of Jesus’ Ascension

After his resurrection, Jesus spent forty days teaching his disciples.Then, while they watched, he ascended into the sky, disappearing into a cloud. Angels announced his return in the same manner (Acts 1:9-11).

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Jesus promised to return with glory to gather his followers. 1 Corinthians 15:22-23 states that Christ will return for those who belong to him.

Jesus’ Return Order

The order of events during Jesus’ return is a meaningful aspect of Christian eschatology. These include:

1. jesus descends from heaven with a shout, archangel’s voice, and God’s trumpet (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
2. Dead believers rise to meet Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
