Showing Love And Unselfishness: Helping Someone In Need

We show true love when we help others who are in need or in trouble. The Bible teaches us to be kind and not selfish. Helping others is one way we show we love like Jesus.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

Jesus told a story to teach how we should love and help others, even if they are different from us.

A man was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. On the way, robbers attacked him. They beat him, stole his things, and left him badly hurt.

A priest passed by but did not help him. Then a Levite also walked by but did nothing. But a Samaritan man saw the hurt man, felt sorry for him, and helped him. He cleaned his wounds, put him on a donkey, and took him to an inn. He also paid for his care.

Lessons from the Good Samaritan

The Good Samaritan shows us that love is not just in words but in action. He helped someone in trouble without expecting anything back.

The following are reasons why we should help others:

It shows we have the love of God.
It brings joy to others and to us.
