Farm animals have been used for transportation for many years, especially where vehicles are scarce. They offer a valuable service.

what are some of the ways farm animals are used for transportation?

These include:

  1. Riding: Animals like horses, donkeys, and camels are ridden. Horses pull carriages; donkeys carry goods and people short distances; camels are suited for deserts and carry people and goods.
  2. Pulling: Oxen, buffaloes, and reindeer pull carts, plows, and sleds. Oxen pull plows and carts; buffaloes pull heavy loads; reindeer pull sleds thru snow.
  3. Carrying: Elephants and donkeys carry heavy loads and people. Elephants carry large amounts of goods or people; donkeys carry loads in hilly areas. Learn more about the various uses of farm animals.
