Sound Energy
Sound energy is a type of energy we can hear. It’s made when things vibrate or shake quickly. This movement makes sound waves that travel to our ears.
Examples of Sound Energy
Sound energy is all around us, created by vibrations that our ears can detect.
Examples are:
- Musical instruments: Playing a guitar makes the strings vibrate, creating sound.Energy is needed to make the sound.
- Voices: When we talk, our vocal cords vibrate, making sound.
- Animals: Animals make sounds by vibrating parts of their bodies.
- Machines: cars, airplanes, and lawnmowers make sounds from vibrating engines.
- Thunder: The rapid heating of air during a lightning strike causes a loud boom.
- Doorbell: The vibration of the bell when it is rung produces sound.

Sound travels in waves, like ripples in water, but through the air. These waves reach our ears,making our eardrums vibrate,and we hear the sound.
