The Printer

A printer is a device that creates a physical copy of digital information from a computer. It transforms digital data into something you can touch and hold.

Functions of a Printer

Printers have many uses:

These include:

1. Printing documents, such as homework or stories.
2. Producing photographs, like those from your phone.
3. Creating school assignments,like drawings or reports.
4. Making copies of vital information, like notes or receipts.
5. designing and printing artwork, like posters or greeting cards.
6. Printing receipts for transactions in shops and banks.
7. Printing tickets for events, transportation, and entertainment.

How a Printer Produces Output

A printer is an output device that produces a hard copy of text or images from digital data. Inkjet printers spray tiny drops of ink; laser printers use toner and heat. A printer needs power, a connection or network, the correct driver or settings and paper or another suitable material.

Before printing, use print preview, choose the page range and check paper size. Do not touch hot internal parts or pull jammed paper while the printer is operating.
