Good Food Habits and Table Manners
Good food habits refer to the way we choose,prepare,and eat our food. They help keep us healthy and strong.
The following are good food habits:
- Eating balanced meals
- eating a variety of foods
- Drinking plenty of water
- eating slowly and chewing food properly
- Avoiding overeating
- Washing fruits and vegetables before eating
- Limiting sugary drinks and snacks
- Consuming foods rich in vitamins and minerals
Table Manners
table manners are the polite behaviors we use when eating in a group or at the dining table. These include:
- washing your hands before eating
- Using a napkin to wipe your mouth
- Sitting properly at the table
- waiting for others to be served before starting
- Chewing with your mouth closed
- saying “please” and “thank you” when asking for food
- Avoiding talking with food in your mouth
- not reaching across the table for food
- Using utensils correctly (fork, spoon, knife)
