What is a Monitor?
A monitor is a screen that shows information from a computer. It’s like a TV,but for showing what’s happening inside the computer.
Functions of a Monitor
A monitor is an essential output device with several key functions. These include:
- Showing information like text, images, and videos.
- Displaying pictures and videos.
- Letting users see what they’re doing on the computer.
- Providing a visual way to use the computer.
- Making the computer easier and more enjoyable to use.
- Aiding in creating and editing documents.
- Facilitating online learning and research.
Types of Monitors
Monitors come in various types, each with its own technology and characteristics. These include:

- LCD monitors: Flat screens using liquid crystals. They are lighter, thinner, and use less power than CRTs.
