Nigeria, Our Country
Nigeria is our country. It is a very big country with many states. We live in [Teacher to insert name of state] State, which is inside Nigeria. Nigeria is our home.
The Nigerian Flag
Our country has a beautiful flag. It has two colours: green and white.
- Green: Represents our rich land, farming, and natural wealth.
- White: Represents peace and unity in our country.
The Nigerian flag has two green stripes on the sides and one white stripe in the middle.
The Nigerian National Anthem
The National Anthem is a special song we sing to honour our country. We stand at attention when we sing it.
Lyrics (First Stanza):
Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria’s call obey,
To serve our Fatherland,
With love and strength and faith,
The labour of our heroes past,
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might,

The Nigerian National Pledge
The National Pledge is a special promise we make to our country. We stand at attention and place our right hand on our chest when we recite it.

I pledge to Nigeria my country,
To be faithful, loyal and honest,
To serve Nigeria with all my strength,
To defend her unity,
And uphold her honour and glory,
So help me God.
Our National Leader: The President
Every country has a leader. The leader of our whole country, Nigeria, is called the President. The President is the number one leader in Nigeria.
The current President of Nigeria is Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
