Understanding the importance of exercise is crucial for pupils’ physical and mental well-being. This lesson lays the foundation for healthy habits and promotes lifelong fitness.


Prerequisite/Previous Knowledge

The teacher will start by asking pupils what they did during their break time. The teacher will than transition into a discussion about physical activities,leading into the topic of exercise.

What is Exercise?

Exercise is any physical activity that makes our bodies move. it’s like a workout for our bodies, helping us stay healthy and strong.

Examples are:

  1. running
  2. Jumping
  3. Dancing
  4. Swimming
  5. Playing sports
  6. Skipping rope
  7. Playing tag

Importance of Exercise

Exercise offers many benefits for our health and well-being:

Keeps Us Strong

Exercise strengthens our muscles, helping us move easily and perform daily tasks.

Makes Our Hearts Healthy

Exercise strengthens our hearts,improving blood circulation and reducing the risk of heart disease.

Gives Us Energy

Exercise boosts our energy levels, allowing us to be more active and less tired.

Keeps Us Fit

Exercise helps us maintain a healthy weight and reduces the risk of obesity.

Helps Us Learn

Exercise increases oxygen flow to the brain, improving concentration, memory, and learning.
