Introduction to Suratul Mulk

Suratul Mulk (Chapter 67) is a Makkan Surah of the Holy Quran, meaning it was revealed in Makkah. It consists of 30 verses and is known for its profound messages about the greatness of Allah, His power over creation, and the consequences of belief and disbelief.

Suratul Mulk (Chapter 67): Verses 6-10

Verse 6

( text{وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ} )

Meaning: And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination.

Verse 7

( text{إِذَا أُلْقُوا فِيهَا سَمِعُوا لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ} )

Meaning: When they are cast therein, they will hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up.

Verse 8

( text{تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ} )

Meaning: It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, “Did there not come to you a warner?”

Verse 9

( text{قَالُوا بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ} )

Meaning: They will say, “Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, ‘Allah has not sent down anything; you are not but in great error.'”

Verse 10

( text{وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ} )

Meaning: And they will say, “If only we had listened or reasoned, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze.”
