Instructional Materials

Materials For Tie And Dye

Tie and dye is a method of decorating fabrics by tying and applying dye to create patterns. To do tie and dye, we need some materials that help in making colourful designs.

These are the things needed to carry out tie and dye:

  1. White cotton fabric
  2. Natural dye like indigo or vegetable colour
  3. Synthetic dye like caustic soda and hydrosulphite
  4. Rubber bands or strings for tying
  5. Plastic bowls or buckets for dye
  6. Clean water
  7. Wooden sticks or spoons for mixing
  8. Gloves and apron for safety
  9. Brushes for applying dye

Importance of the Materials

These materials help make the dyeing process easier and safer.

The following are the importance of the materials:
