Values are the good qualities and principles that guide how we behave and treat others.They help us to know what is right and wrong.

Values and national values are essential for personal and societal growth. The following are definitions of these terms:

1. Values: These are the principles or standards of behavior that guide what is considered critically important or good. Examples are:

5. Courage

1. National Values: These are principles that promote unity and advancement in a nation.They are:

Personal Values and National Values

A value is a principle that guides choices and behaviour. Personal values influence an individual; national values are ideals citizens are encouraged to share for the good of the country.

Examples include honesty, justice, discipline, tolerance, dignity of labour, responsibility, patriotism and respect for human life. A value is shown by action: honesty means telling the truth and keeping accurate records even when cheating seems easier.
