Definition of Computer Hardware

Computer hardware refers to the physical parts of a computer system.These are the tangible components you can touch and feel.

Examples of computer hardware include:

The following are examples of computer hardware:

  1. Monitor – Displays images and text.
  2. keyboard – Used to type data into the computer.
  3. Mouse – A pointing device to interact with the computer.
  4. CPU – The brain of the computer that processes instructions.
  5. Printer – produces a physical copy of documents.
  6. Speaker – Outputs sound from the computer.
  7. Webcam – Captures video and images.
  8. Microphone – Records audio input.


Computer Hardware

Computer hardware means the physical parts of a computer system that can be seen or touched. Examples include the system unit, monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, speakers and storage devices.

Input hardware sends data into the computer, processing hardware works on it, output hardware presents results and storage hardware keeps data. Software is different because it consists of programs and instructions, not physical parts.
