Meaning of Population
Population means the number of people living in a place.It can be a village, town, country, or even the whole world. Population tells us how many people are in a place.
Overpopulation
Overpopulation means there are too many people in a place and not enough resources for them.
Underpopulation
Underpopulation means there are few people in a place and many resources are not used.
Population Census
Population census is the counting of people living in a country. It is done by the government.
Importance of Census
A population census is very significant for a country. The following are some of the reasons why it is important:
- Helps in planning schools
- Helps in building hospitals
- Helps in sharing resources
- Helps in making laws
- Helps in development
- Helps in creating job opportunities
- Helps in providing social amenities
