- Production of Services: This involves providing intangible activities or benefits to others. Services cannot be seen, touched, or stored. Examples include teaching, medical care, banking, transportation, and hairdressing.
Factors of Production
These are the resources needed to produce goods and services:
- Land: All natural resources used in production, such as actual land, minerals, water, forests, and air.
- Labour: The human effort, both physical and mental, used in production. This includes workers, managers, and skilled professionals.
- Capital: Man-made resources used in production, such as machinery, tools, buildings, and money used to buy these resources.
- Entrepreneurship: The ability and willingness to combine land, labour, and capital to produce goods and services, taking risks in the process. An entrepreneur organises and manages the business.
Effects of Production on the Environment and Society
Production activities have both positive and negative effects:
