Unlimited Forgiveness: Jesus taught that forgiveness should not be limited. When Peter asked how many times he should forgive his brother, Jesus replied, “Seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:21-22), meaning forgiveness should be continuous and without limit.
Conditional Forgiveness: Jesus also taught that God’s forgiveness for us is often conditional on our willingness to forgive others. In the Lord’s Prayer, we pray, “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” (Matthew 6:12).
