What is Solar Energy?

Solar energy is a type of renewable energy from the sun. It’s a clean and sustainable energy source used to power homes, businesses, and vehicles.

Uses Of solar Energy

Solar energy has various applications in our daily lives.These include:

  1. Powering homes with solar panels: Solar panels on rooftops convert sunlight into electricity for appliances and lights.
  2. Charging solar-powered devices: Manny devices (calculators, watches, some phones) use built-in solar panels to charge their batteries.
  3. Heating water for household use: Solar water heaters use the sun’s energy to heat water, saving money and reducing fossil fuel use.
  4. Running solar-powered streetlights: solar streetlights collect energy during the day, storing it in batteries to power lights at night.This is a sustainable and cost-effective option.
  5. Providing energy for solar cookers: Solar cookers use the sun’s energy to cook food without fuel, making them sustainable and environmentally pleasant.
  6. powering irrigation systems: Solar-powered pumps can provide water for agriculture, especially in remote areas.
  7. Operating traffic signals: Solar panels can power traffic lights, ensuring they function even during power outages.
