Meaning of Design Transfer

Use of Carbon Paper

Carbon paper transfer involves placing carbon paper between the design paper and the fabric to trace the design directly onto the fabric surface.

The following are steps involved in using carbon paper:

1. Place the fabric on a flat surface.
2. Put the carbon paper on the fabric with the dark side facing down.
3. Place the design paper on top of the carbon paper.
4. Trace the design with a pencil to transfer it onto the fabric.

Pricking Method

Pricking is a method where small holes are made along the design outline and transferred onto fabric using powder or chalk.

These include the main steps:

1. Place the design paper on a soft surface.
2. Use a pin or needle to prick small holes along the design lines.
3. Place the pricked design on the fabric.
4. Rub chalk or powder over the holes to reveal the design.

Tailors Tack Method

Tailors tack is a temporary stitching method used to transfer designs to fabric using loose stitches.
