Meaning of Social Media

Social media helps people talk to others using the internet. It allows sharing of ideas, pictures, videos, and messages.

The following are uses of social media:

  3. Sending messages quickly
  4. Learning new things online
  5. Watching funny or educational videos
  6. Following news and current events
  7. Joining groups with shared interests

Examples of Social Media Platforms

Ther are many social media platforms. People use them for fun,talking,and learning.

Social Media Use and Safety

Social media are online services where users create, share and respond to messages, images, audio or video. Examples change over time, so the important features are accounts, networks, feeds, comments and private messages.

Children should follow age rules and family guidance, use privacy settings, avoid sharing passwords or live location, check information before forwarding and tell a trusted adult about threats or unwanted contact. A popular post is not necessarily true.
